Emergency crews, air ambulance called to scene in Deroche

Two motorcyclist were injured in an accident in Deroche on Thursday afternoon.

While no official information has been released, Justin Gordon, a nearby resident, said the accident happened at around 4 p.m. on the Lougheed Highway near Oasis Country Estates.

Allegedly the two motorcycles were traveling down the highway when a dump truck pulled out from a side street.

While the motorcycles did not hit the dump truck, they both swerved to miss the vehicle and ended up crashing into the ditch.

The dump truck reportedly drove away from the scene. It is not yet known if the driver knew that the accident happened, considering no contact was made between the truck and the motorcycles.

The two motorcyclist were taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries.
