A Honda CR-V and a Honda Civic were involved in a crash at the corner of McKenzie and Marshall roads on Thursday morning.

A two-vehicle crash took place at about 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of McKenzie and Marshall roads in Abbotsford.

Abbotsford Police Sgt. Casey Vinet said a Honda CR-V and a Honda Civic were both travelling east along Marshall Road. Vinet said it appears that the 18-year-old male driver of the CR-V, in the right-hand lane, either attempted to make a left turn or a U-turn, and was struck by the Civic, which was in the left lane.

Both vehicles ended up facing east in the westbound lanes of Marshall Road.

The driver of the CR-V was taken to hospital with minor injuries and was issued a ticket for failing to yield, Vinet said.

The Civic was occupied by a 30-year-old woman and two children under the age of five. None had to be taken to hospital.

Fire, police and ambulance personnel were on the scene.
