The trial of an Abbotsford Catholic school teacher accused of sending suggestive text messages to a student has been adjourned until May 24.

The trial of an Abbotsford Catholic school teacher accused of sending suggestive text messages to a student has been adjourned until May 24. The closing submissions in the case of Martin Careen will be presented that day in B.C. Supreme Court in New Westminster. The judge is likely to reserve his decision for another date.Careen was charged with invitation to sexual touching in relation to messages sent in January 2009 when he was a teacher at St. John Breubef Regional Secondary. His trial began in September, resumed for a brief time in January, and continued one day this month. Court time was not available until May for the conclusion.
