TRAFFIC: Icy conditions slow traffic along Hwy. 1 between Chilliwack and Hope

Travellers advised to avoid non-essential trips

Slippery road conditions are causing problems on roads across the Fraser Valley, including Highway 1.

DriveBC reports a travel advisory between Bridal Falls Road and Flood Road (East of Chilliwack to Hope) in both directions along Highway 1. A crash in the Ruby Creek area outside of Hope has caused significant slowdowns in each direction. There is also considerably slowdown in the

Temperatures are already below freezing with multiple winter weather warnings, which could cause more hazardous driving conditions throughout the eastern Fraser Valley. With roadways becoming slippery and icy, drivers are asked to consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.
