The driver of a tractor was taken to hospital with serious injuries Tuesday afternoon after a collision on South Parallel Road about a kilometre east of Whatcom Road.
Police say a pickup truck carrying a trailer was travelling in the same direction as the tractor and trying to pass the farm vehicle when the collision occurred, just before 4 p.m.
The crash caused the tractor to flip and resulted in the ejection of the tractor's driver, a 63-year-old man. He suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and was hospitalized.
The driver of the truck remained on the scene and is co-operating with police.
Abbotsford Police Department Const. Paul Walker said drivers in rural areas should be aware that farm vehicles can be travelling substantially slower than the posted speed limit.
