Third robbery in less than a week

A hotel in Abbotsford was robbed on Thursday night, following previous robberies at a pharmacy and pizza shop.

The third robbery in less than a week took place Thursday night in Abbotsford, and the circumstances are identical to the previous two.

The incident occurred at about 11:45 p.m. at the Ramada Plaza and Conference Centre in the 36000 block of North Parallel Road.

Abbotsford Police Const. Ian MacDonald said that two men wearing dark clothing, including ski masks and hoodies, entered the main entrance of the hotel.

One stood watch at the door, while the other, who was carrying a knife, approached the lone clerk at the front desk and demanded cash.

The previous two robberies occurred on Saturday, Dec. 1 at a pharmacy in the 2000 block of McCallum Road and on Wednesday, Dec. 5 at a pizza shop in the 33000 block of South Fraser Way.

In all three robberies, the suspects did not enter the businesses until all the customers were gone.
