Thieves cut through walls to break into three businesses

Break-in took place on Whatcom Road in Abbotsford and was discovered Saturday morning

Thieves cut through walls to get to three adjoining businesses during a break-in over the weekend.

The break-in took place in the 2300 block of Whatcom Road and was discovered on Saturday morning.

Abbotsford Police Const. Ian MacDonald said the culprits first broke into a vacant business and then cut through the walls to access a beauty supply store and a veterinary hospital.

He said the thieves got away with just a small amount of cash.

MacDonald said one of the businesses had an alarm which was activated, but when the alarm company notified the contact person, they assumed it was a false alarm and did not call police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225 or text abbypd (222973).
