The week started with the annual Fraser Valley Cultural Diversity Awards, a sell-out performance by Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance and a vigil for three farmworkers killed in a 2007 van crash.

The UFV basketball team clinched a silver in Canada West, earning a spot in the nationals.

Abbotsford teachers were involved in a three-day province-wide strike and, later in the week, an annual rally brought attention to the issue of youth sexual exploitation.

Abbotsford Christian School unveiled its repaired drag car, and the family of a girl murdered in 1975 offered a $10,000 reward in the unsolved case.

Mayor Bruce Banman promoted Abbotsford’s involvement in the 2012 Healthy Community Challenge, and the BC Log Home, Timber Frame and Country Living Show came to Tradex.
