Abbotsford’s former head of economic development has joined the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC), and will lead the development of the associations’ B.C. strategy.

The AIAC announced on Friday that by hiring Jay Teichroeb, it has taken the next step in plans to collaborate with the Aerospace Industries Association of British Columbia (AIABC) on the revitalization of the provincial aerospace association.

Teichroeb left city hall in June after serving as the general manager of economic development. At the AIAC, Teichroeb will develop a launch strategy and implementation plan for the B.C. association.

“Effective, coordinated regional representation is critical to the success of our members and the communities in which they live,” said Jim Quick, president and CEO of AIAC, adding that the organization will work with AIABC to help provide the services and advocacy that B.C.’s aerospace companies need.
