Tasty Indian Bistro is under construction on South Fraser Way in Abbotsford and it’s likely that the establishment will open sometime in 2024.
According to the restaurant’s website, the Abbotsford location will include a lounge, patio and private dining. They will also be offering delivery, takeout and reservations.
TIB currently has locations in Delta and Yaletown. The menu offers a number of options of Indian cuisine and they are known for their popular sauces which can be found at markets in Langley, North Vancouver and Vancouver.
The brand initially started off known as Tasty Sweets and Restaurant and was started by Avtar Saini, who moved to Canada with his family in 1994. Saini ran a chain of restaurants in India before arriving in Canada.
Saini wanted diners to enjoy his food and feel as though they are in the Taj Mahal while having a meal. He died in 2010, but his family is still involved in the business.
It was previously reported that the Abbotsford location was to have opened in 2020, but it’s likely that planning and construction had to be delayed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
