Residents of an Abbotsford home received a rude wake-up call on Wednesday morning after a motorist drove through their hedge and struck their garage.

Abbotsford Police Const. Ian MacDonald said the incident took place at about 7:25 a.m. on Heritage Drive, located east of Mt. Lehman Road and north of Blueridge Drive.

MacDonald said a Ford Expedition SUV went off the road, drove through some hedges, nicked a car in the driveway, and came to a stop at the garage door.

He said the two women and one man in the vehicle were not seriously injured, but the two women were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

Police issued two tickets – failing to display the "N" symbol and driving without due care and attention.
