W. J. Mouat Secondary in Abbotsford was briefly locked down this morning (Thursday) after a suspicious note was found among graffiti on a bathroom stall.

The lockdown began at 9:45 a.m. School staff and police swept the building and found nothing. The lockdown was lifted before 10:30 a.m, and the school and classes returned to normal operations.

Dave Stephen, communications manager with the school district, said the note made an obscure threat about an explosion.

"School staff and administrators felt caution should be exercised, and instituted the lockdown and sweep of the school with Abbotsford Police," he said.
