Suspects sought in laser-pointing incident

Driver might have suffered eye damage in episode on Highway 1 in Abbotsford

Police are looking for two suspects who were travelling along Highway 1 in Abbotsford on Feb. 27 when they pointed a green laser into the eyes of another driver, causing her possible eye damage.

RCMP Sgt. Peter Thiessen said the woman was driving west at No. 3 Road at about 4 p.m., when she was passed in the right lane by a greyish Audi with a B.C. licence plate.

The Audi, driven by a woman, pulled in front of the victim, and the male passenger stood up, with his head through the sun roof, and spit on the victim's windshield.

The man then sat down and pointed a green laser through the Audi's rear window at the victim's eyes, causing her to not be able to see her surroundings, Thiessen said.

The victim lost sight of the Audi around Clearbrook Road, as it sped away.

The driver was in her early 20s and had dark-brown hair. The man, also in his 20s, had a large build and fair hair that was shaved on both sides.

Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying the suspect vehicle and its occupants. Anyone with information is asked to call Const. Lee Keane of Fraser Valley Traffic Services at 604-869-1397 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222- TIPS.
