Students host political rally on April 6

Concerns for the future include economy, debt, the criminal justice system and post-secondary education.

A determined group of students have decided have their voices heard in the upcoming provincial election.

They’re concerned about issues that will affect their future including the economy, debt, the criminal justice system and post-secondary education. They want you to hear from them and want to hear from you. To kick off their movement they have organized a rally, called “It’s our Future,” on April 6 in Abbotsford.

Organizers of the rally, who describe themselves as Dr. Darryl Plecas’ youth team, have invited MLA Rich Coleman and BC Liberals hopeful Plecas to share their views on the future of BC at the rally.

All are welcome to attend.

The rally is planned for a 2 pm start on April 6, at the Abbotsford Conference and Banquet Hall, 33738 Laurel Street in Abbotsford.

“One of the things we are very concerned about is the eroding of access and opportunity in BC’s post secondary education system,” said Surjit Atwal, one of the organizers.

“These youth have their act together. They’re not just thinking about today, they’re thinking about tomorrow, and they’re thinking about the future of BC,” said Plecas.
