Abbotsford Police received a call Tuesday afternoon from a man saying there was a break-in at a home in the 2900 block of Babich Street.
But Const. Ian MacDonald said by the time police arrived on the scene at about 12:15 p.m., nobody was in the home. The back door had been kicked in and a small grow-op – about a dozen plants – was found.
MacDonald said the initial call was made from a pay phone, and police have been unable to locate the person who placed the call.
The matter is still under investigation.
