Sex assault charges laid in Abbotsford

Man, 30, charged with eight counts in relation to alleged attack against two women who were selling massage services.

An Abbotsford man has been charged with eight counts related to the alleged sexual assaults of two women who were selling massage services.

Paul William Holmes, 30, has been charged with two counts each of assault, uttering threats, sexual assault and unlawful confinement.

It is alleged that both women were contacted through postings on Craigslist and each went on separate occasions to the suspect’s apartment. They were not permitted to leave and were sexually assaulted, police allege.

One woman reported that the incident happened on Feb. 27, and that led police to a previous incident from Feb. 1.

According to the provincial court database, Holmes has previously been convicted of assault in Terrace; assault, mischief and breach of probation in Williams Lake; and breach of probation in Abbotsford.
