The second motel robbery in Abbotsford in less than a week took place Thursday night in the 32000 block of Marshall Road.

Const. Ian MacDonald said police were called at about 11:30 p.m.

Two men wearing masks had entered the lobby brandishing handguns and a knife.

They demanded cash, and the front desk clerk handed over the small amount that was in the register.

"The clerk was not harmed but she was understandably shaken as a result of the robbery," MacDonald said.

About 10 minutes before the robbery, a man in his 40s had entered the lobby and asked for the clerk to make change for him.

He asked some questions about the motel before leaving without booking a room.

MacDonald said police would like to speak with this man, as he may be a witness or a person of interest in the robbery. Police have released a photo of him taken from video surveillance at the motel.

The robbery suspects are both described as Caucasian men with medium builds.

They were both wearing masks with skull designs on the front.

One suspect was wearing a grey hoodie with black pants while the other wore a grey hoodie under a white-and-red sports jersey and grey pants.

One of them carried a handgun, while the second had a gun and a knife.

The previous motel robbery took place on Sunday, Feb. 2 in the 1800 block of Sumas Way and involved two men and a woman.
