A rollover crash took place on Highway 1 in Abbotsford just after noon today east of the Whatcom Road exit.
Highway 1 eastbound is closed at Whatcom, as of 12:30 p.m., and westbound lanes are backed up to No. 3 Road.
One vehicle is on its side in the median. Fire, ambulance and police crews are on the scene.
Another vehicle off to the side appears to have been rear-ended.
Early reports suggested there were no serious injuries, however, the News is awaiting confirmation from highway RCMP.
No further details were available at this time.
A second accident in the eastbound lanes of Hwy. 1 just east of Clearbrook Road at about 1 p.m. has traffic backed up to the Peardonville Road exit and beyond. A car is in the ditch, but early reports indicate the driver is out of the car, and emergency crews have been stood down.
