Police issue suspensions to 11 impaired drivers

All were stopped in Abbotsford throughout the day and evening on Thursday.

The Abbotsford Police Department's traffic and patrol units issued suspensions last Thursday to 11 impaired drivers.

Const. Paul Walker said the vehicle stops occurred throughout the day and evening, and officers came in contact with drivers at different levels of intoxication.

The drivers were all issued suspensions of three, seven or 90 days under the immediate roadside prohibition program.

Walker said police are reminding drivers to make responsible choices throughout the year.

During the holiday season, he recommended that people used the Operation Red Nose program, which provides safe rides home for a donation.
