UPDATE: Pedestrian seriously injured in South Surrey crash

Roads have now reopened after crash near Semiahmoo Shopping Centre

Martin Drive is closed between 16th Avenue and Southmere Crescent after a pedestrian was struck on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.

Surrey RCMP is investigating an accident in South Surrey Wednesday afternoon (June 12) that sent a pedestrian to hospital with serious injuries.

The 60-year-old female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at around 2 p.m. near the intersection of Martin Drive and Southmere Crescent, adjacent to Semiahmoo Shopping Centre.

Police said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperating with the investigation.

Martin Drive was closed to traffic north of 16 Avenue and south of Southmere Crescent as police investigated. Shortly after 6 p.m., RCMP issued a press release noting the roads have now been reopened at the scene.

Surrey RCMP Traffic Services is asking anyone in the area who witnessed the incident or may have dashcam footage to call the non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 2024-84295.
