The 51-year-old Mission man who was struck and killed by a vehicle on Saturday night while walking along Highway 11 has been identified by family and friends as Richard Bodhaine.

Bodhaine had been hitchhiking or walking dangerously close to traffic in the northbound lanes of Highway 11 (the Abbotsford-Mission Highway) on April 7 when he was struck and killed.

Officers found him dead at the scene, and two drivers indicated they had hit him. The circumstances are still under investigation.

A traditional drumming ceremony for Bodhaine, formerly from Ontario, takes place tomorrow (Friday, April 13) at the Mission Friendship Centre, 33150 First Avenue, starting at 7 p.m.
