Pam Alexis has been appointed as the new Minister of Agriculture and Food.
Alexis replaces Lana Popham, from the riding of Saanich South, who held the position since 2017. Popham is the new Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
Lt.-Gov. Janet Austin swore in Alexis and the rest of the new cabinet during a ceremony at Government House in Victoria on Wednesday (Dec. 7).
This is Alexis’ first cabinet position. The former Mission mayor was elected MLA of Abbotsford-Mission in November of 2020 when she defeated Liberal incumbent Simon Gibson by 744 votes.
