Motorcyclist suffers serious injuries after crash in Abbotsford

Cause of collision on Old Yale Road near Springhill Street still under investigation

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries in a crash in Abbotsford on Wednesday afternoon (June 3).

Abbotsford Police Sgt. Judy Bird said the collision took place around 4:20 p.m. in the 31600 block of Old Yale Road.

She said the cause of the crash is still under investigation, but investigators believe it resulted when the motorcyclist responded to the actions of another motorcycle ahead of him.

Police are asking to hear from anyone who might have witnessed the collision or who was in the area of Old Yale Road and Springhill Street between 4 and 4:30 p.m. and might have dashcam footage. They can be reached at 604-859-5225 or by text at 222973 (abbypd).
