A fire that damaged a mobile home on Sunday night is being considered suspicious by Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service.
The blaze at 1027 McKenzie Rd. was reported at about 9 p.m. by a neighbour. When fire crews arrived, heavy flames were shooting through the roof and windows of the residence, which was vacant because the former occupants had recently moved out.
Deputy Fire Chief Mike Helmer said the fire was quickly extinguished, but the home sustained about $50,000 in heavy fire, smoke and water damage.
Approximately 25 firefighters and six trucks were on the scene. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
