Mission residents rally before council meeting tonight

A rally to protest how Mission council is running the district is being planned for tonight (Monday) at municipal hall starting at 6 p.m.

The main thrust of the anger is the bylaw that regulates the Public Safety Inspection Team (PSIT), the group which uses BC Hydro data and inspects homes with higher than average power consumption for a marijuana grow operation.

The District of Mission created the controlled substance property bylaw which lays out fines for properties PSIT states housed grow ops, but many inspected said they were forced to pay even when no illegal activities were discovered.
