Randy Hawes keeps an eye on election results on Saturday night.

Cheers erupted at the Hawes household when the second-to-last poll came in, putting Randy Hawes more than 600 ahead of the closest challenger, Tony Luck. Hawes had 2,696 votes and Luck had 1,980.

With one polling station left, Hawes wasn't making any speeches, yet.

"I feel like Mission voters have said nasty politics don't work in Mission," said Hawes.

But he says there are still two big polls to go. "I'm worried about every poll."
