Man with gun robs Abbotsford convenience store

Police are seeking a suspect in the armed robbery of a convenience store in Abbotsford Thursday afternoon.

A man entered Granny's Market at 3590 Gladwin Rd. at about 1:30 p.m. and demanded cash.

Const. Ian MacDonald said the cashier reported that the suspect appeared to have a long gun tucked into the waistband of his pants. When the employee called for help, the man fled with only some cigarettes.

He headed north on Gladwin Road, and a police K9 unit was called to the scene, but the man was not located.

He is described as Caucasian, about 35 years old, 5' 9" and about 200 pounds. He was wearing blue jeans, white runners and a black hoodie.
