A 19-year-old man is facing charges after two robberies took place within six minutes of each other on Tuesday, Dec. 29 in Abbotsford.
Abbotsford Police Sgt. Judy Bird said the first robbery took place at 10:30 p.m. at a gas station in the 3200 block of Immel Street. A masked man waved a gun and robbed staff of lottery tickets and cash. He then ran away soutbound.
Several officers responded to the incident and at 10:36 p.m. they saw the same suspect waving a gun in a nearby restaurant.
Bird said the man left the restaurant, but he refused to comply with directions given by the officer, and a beanbag gun was deployed.
He was then taken into custody without further incident.
Bird said the weapon seized from the man turned out to be a pellet gun.
Peyton Jackson Graham has now been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of using an imitation firearm while committing an offence. He also faces two counts of breaching his probation.
