The Abbotsford Police Department (APD) has released a photo obtained from security video of a suspect wanted for an indecent act that occurred almost a year ago.

The incident took place on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014. Police were called at 10:25 p.m. to Castle Fun Park – a family amusement facility – on North Parallel Road in Abbotsford.

Const. Ian MacDonald said a 24-year-old woman reported that she had been playing pinball with some friends when a man approached her from behind.

The man appeared to be touching his genitals and be recording something with his cellphone. He quickly walked away after being noticed by the victim.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his mid-30s, 5’ 10” and weighing about 180 pounds.

He had a chubby face with stubble. He was wearing a light blue Canucks hoodie, blue jeans and a baseball cap with white printing.

MacDonald said police are only now releasing the photo – which was obtained from the business’s security video – because they have been unable to identify the man through other avenues, which have taken time to pursue.

He said this includes a forensic exam of the victim’s clothing and talking to other police agencies to see if similar incidents have occurred elsewhere.

“It’s not like a television show where everything happens in an hour,” MacDonald explained of the time the investigation has taken.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to call the APD at 604-859-5225, text abbypd (222973) or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
