Mission police, fire and ambulance personnel responded to Philbert Street for reports of a male suffering from a gunshot wound on Friday shortly after 3 p.m.
The victim was taken via air ambulance — which landed in Mission Secondary School's playing field — to Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster.
It is uncertain whether the wound was self-inflicted or if the victim was targeted.
Mission RCMP were unable to provide a comment yet.
