Suspect flees scene in Abbotsford on Wednesday afternoon

A man in his 30s was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after he was stabbed during an altercation on Wednesday at the Salvation Army in Abbotsford.

Abbotsford Police Sgt. Judy Bird said police were called at about 3 p.m. to the Salvation Army’s Centre of Hope on Gladys Avenue.

She said the initial report was about a fight between two men, but, as police were on the way there, they were informed that there had been a possible stabbing.

The stabbing was confirmed when first responders arrived on scene. The victim was taken to hospital.

Bird said police know who the suspect is, but he had fled the scene before they arrived and they were unable to locate him.
