A man who was scheduled to return on a flight to India yesterday has been reported missing from Abbotsford.

Gurnam Singh, 30, had been in Canada working at the Sikh temple on Blueridge Drive in Abbotsford since November 2012, according to Abbotsford Police Const. Ian MacDonald.

Singh went for a walk on Sunday at about 9:30 p.m. and didn't return. His work sponsor reported him missing at 8:45 a.m. on Monday.

Singh also failed to show up for his return flight to India, scheduled to leave at 1:20 p.m. on Monday.

Singh is 5' 8", weighs about 180 pounds, wears glasses and has black hair, a short black bear and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black turban, a black jacket, a white shirt and white pants.

He does not have a vehicle or a driver's licence.

According to his sponsor, Singh kept to himself and does not have family or friends in Canada.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225.

In August 2012, a kabaddi athlete from India was reported missing from Abbotsford after he failed to turn up for a tournament. He had been scheduled to return to India at the end of that month.

That man, Liakat Ali, turned up in Montreal about five weeks later.
