A man reported missing from Abbotsford on April 29 has been found safe in Calgary.

Const. Ian MacDonald said a detective with the Abbotsford Police's major crime unit made contact with Gurnam Singh, 30, on Thursday morning (May 30).

It was determined that Singh was staying with an acquaintance in Calgary.

Singh had been in Canada working at the Sikh temple on Blueridge Drive in Abbotsford since November 2012.

On the evening of April 29, he went for a walk and didn't return. His work sponsor reported him missing the following morning.

Singh was scheduled to return on a flight to India on the afternoon of April 30.

In August 2012, a kabaddi athlete from India was reported missing from Abbotsford after he failed to turn up for a tournament. He had been scheduled to return to India at the end of that month.

That man, Liakat Ali, turned up in Montreal about five weeks later.
