One Abbotsford thief should really consider quitting smoking after getting burned by police two days in a row.

The man was arrested on Sept. 4 when a police K9 was able to sniff him out during a break-in at the construction site for the new courthouse.

After being released from jail, he was arrested in the early hours of Sept. 5 in an apparent rescue operation of cigarettes he dropped in the first arrest.

The courthouse is in the same civic complex as, and within sight of, the Abbotsford police department.
