A 62-year-old man has been charged for committing an indecent act at Mill Lake Park.

Abbotsford Police were called on Tuesday at about 7 p.m. by a citizen who reported seeing a man sitting with his shorts down in an older model, brown Chrysler sedan.

Const. Ian MacDonald said the man was seen on the north side of the park by a baseball diamond that is bordered by Mill Lake Road and Lindale Street.

The suspect was watching a group of about 30 girls ages six to nine who were playing baseball, MacDonald said.

A patrol officer arrived on scene and found the man, who still had his shorts down. The man was taken into custody.

Thomas John Lloyd, of no fixed address, has been charged with committing an indecent act.

Lloyd has been released on $500 bail and is next slated to appear in Abbotsford provincial court on July 23.
