Police are saying the latest stabbing in Langley is gang related.

A 37-year-old Langley/Abbotsford man with gang ties and well known to police was found in his pickup truck suffering from multiple stab wounds. His truck was parked at the Petro-Can gas station in the 7200 block of 200 Street early Thursday morning.

Paramedics were on the scene around 5:50 a.m.

The victim was airlifted to hospital where his injuries are deemed non-life threatening.

"This is believed to be directly linked to gang activity and not a random act of violence. There appears to be no immediate threat to public safety," said Sgt. Peter Thiessen of the Lower Mainland District RCMP.

Langley Serious Crime Section continues to investigate. No arrests have been made at this time.

This is the third stabbing in seven days in Langley.

A 30-year-old Langley man is in serious condition in hospital after being stabbed in the stomach in Langley City on Saturday night.

According to the Langley RCMP, the victim, who is known to police, left a social gathering and met someone around 10 p.m. and got into that person's vehicle in the 20600 block of Eastleigh Crescent.

A confrontation took place inside the vehicle and the man was stabbed once, said police.

The driver of the car then took off.

Last Friday, (May 4) a man was stabbed after a dispute with another man at a trailer park in Aldergrove. In that case, a man and woman were arrested.
