Jepsen nominated for five Junos

Mission singer leads the field of Canadian talent including Abbotsford band Hedley

Mission pop singer Carly Rae Jepsen has been nominated for five Juno Awards.


Mission's Carly Rae Jepsen leads the pack with five 2013 Juno Award nominations, which were announced on Wednesday.

Other multi-nominees include Abbotsford's Hedley as well as Billy Talent, Justin Bieber, Leonard Cohen, Marianas Trench, Metric and Rush

Jepsen leads with nominations in five categories: JUNO Fan Choice, Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Pop Album of the Year.

She will be competing against another local singer, Abbotsford's Victoria Duffield in the Pop Album of the Year category.

Duffield has been nominated for her album Shut Up and Dance.

Jepsen will also perform at the awards ceremony for Canadian music artists, set for April 21 in Regina’s Brandt Centre.

Hedley has been nominated for JUNO Fan Choice, Single of the Year, and Album of the Year.
