Is Abbotsford really that boring?

First annual Boring Awards places Abby as a contender

Abbotsford came within three spots of being declared the most boring city in Canada at the first annual Boring Awards in Toronto on Wednesday night.

The tongue-in-cheek event, staged by Elevatorfilms.com, also pokes fun at Canadian people and events.

The Prime Minister of Canada, Stephen Harper was named Most Boring Canadian of the Year while Toronto Mayor Rob Ford edged out the Ikea Monkey and was named Least Boring Canadian of the Year.

The winners will be chosen by the Boring Academy; a mix of accountants, tax officials and IT networking specialists. Ottawa won in the most boring city Category narrowly edging out Laval, Quebec, Lethbridge, Alberta and Abbotsford in fourth spot, followed by Brampton, Ontario,

Other results can be found at Winners of the Boring Awards homepage.
