The tournament began in 2009 with the participation of most senior high school teams in Abbotsford.

It has since grown to include all middle and senior high schools in the community.

Funds raised at the event provide numerous scholarships each year for graduating students and players.

The group was acknowledged for their "commitment, dedication and perseverance" as core members of the basketball tournament.

They were: Les Barkman, Ryan Camping, Don Hildebrand, Mike Inman, Pat Lee, Don Macdonald, Stan Petersen, Jack Rempel, Sarinder Sarowa and Rudy Teichrob.
