A 20-year-old woman was injured in a hit-and-run collision in Abbotsford on Monday afternoon (Nov. 30).

Abbotsford Police Sgt. Judy Bird said the woman was walking in the area of Harris Road and Riverside Street at about 5:15 p.m. when she was struck by a vehicle and knocked into a ditch.

The driver left the scene and headed north on Riverside.

Bird said the woman was taken to hospital by ambulance and received treatment for injuries that were not life-threatening. She has since been released and is recovering at home with her family.

The Integrated Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team and police investigators closed roads in the area for about three hours.

Bird said police are now seeking witnesses, CCTV footage and dash-cam footage to help identify the driver and vehicle involved.

“While the description of the suspect vehicle is limited, police believe that the vehicle will have substantial damage to the windshield and passenger side view mirror,” she said.

Anyone with information or footage is asked to call the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225.
