A man police describe as being a ‘high-risk offender,’ was arrested without incident in central Abbotsford last night.
Kevin Pahtayken, 53, had a Canada-wide warrant for being unlawfully at large, breaching his long-term supervision order.
The Abbotsford Police Department put out a news release yesterday afternoon (June 11) warning the public not to approach Pahtayken, and phone police if they see him.
Pahtayken has previously been convicted of thefts, break and enters, robberies, possession of narcotics, obstruction of peace officers, property crimes, impaired driving, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a weapon, escape lawful custody, unlawfully at large, mischief, forcible confinement, and numerous assaults, including assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon and assault with intent to steal.
He remains in police custody.
