A five-ton truck has spilled a load of glass onto Clearbrook Road.

Abbotsford Police received several calls at approximately 1:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon from motorists and witnesses to the incident.

“The glass has fallen off the truck and has obviously obstructed southbound traffic on Clearbrook Road,” said Const. Paul Walker.

“In this case, many things could have happened, but we had no reports on injury or vehicles struck by the glass, which is a good thing.”

Highway crews were on scene trying to clean up thousand of chunks and shards strewn across the road.

The driver was issued a ticket for having an unsecured load.
