Fraser Health has officially declared the COVID-19 outbreak over at Abbotsford Regional Hospital.

On Dec. 30, 2020 evidence of a transmission in the medical unit was detected and four patients tested positive.

Fraser Health said the outbreak was limited to a single unit, “patient cohorting” was implemented to allow for limited admissions to the unit, and the hospital and emergency department remained fully operational.

“With the implementation of comprehensive strategies, there is no longer an outbreak at this site,” said a Jan. 11th news release.

The hospital previously announced an outbreak on May 15, affecting a total of 11 staff and one patient by the time it was declared over on June 2.
