A blaze with flames 10-feet high in a heavily forested area in Lonzo Creek Park, behind the Save-On Foods on Sumas Way, was quickly snuffed out by firefighters Friday morning.
The fire started just after 10 a.m. at what appears to have been a homeless campsite. Only a small area burned, but the flames reached several metres into the air before being doused by fire crews.
A shopping cart and other personal remains could be seen at the fire site after the flames were extinguished.
