The city of Abbotsford Emergency Operations Centre has issued evacuation alerts for several local areas due to issues related to heavy rainfall.

These areas include:

  • Clayburn: Clayburn Village and surrounding areas
  • Eagle Mountain: Cranberry Court, Briarwood Place and Doneagle Place
  • Ten Oaks: Mount Blanchard Court, Mount Blanchard Drive and Old Clayburn Road
  • Sumas Praire: Westside of Whatcom Road, east of Huntingdon Village and Southside of Vye Road
  • Straiton: Dawson Road east of Sumas Mountain Road

An evacuation alert is not an order and is described as the time to get prepared to leave your home on short notice.

Get grab-and-go bags ready (which should include several days of clothing, toiletries and medications), emergency plan, copies of important documents and important mementos.

It is recommended to listen to local emergency officials for further information on the situation.
