FortisBC and the Abbotsford school district have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to evaluate how the district’s energy needs can be better met.

The two organizations will be looking at options to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. This includes the use of thermal energy via equipment and facilities owned and operated by FortisBC.

The MOU is for one year, during which time both parties agree to undertake engineering studies to determine which Abbotsford schools would make good candidates for the new energy systems.
