John van Dongen's defeat by a Liberal newcomer was one of many surprises on election night.

Now that was an election night to remember, regardless of what side of the political fence you sit on!

Forecast to fail, the Liberals  formed another majority government, while the NDP blew a huge early lead.

Long-serving incumbent John van Dongen is out in Abbotsford South, replaced by Liberal newcomer Darryl Plecas.
