Election Info: Information on voting in the Nov. 15 municipal election

City of Abbotsford: The municipal election will be held on Nov. 15, electing one mayor, eight councillors and seven trustees

The municipal election will be held on Nov. 15, electing one mayor, eight councillors and seven trustees.

There are two candidates running for mayor, 30 candidates for council and 16 candidates for school trustee positions.

There will be three advance voting opportunities held from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

They will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 5 and Thursday Nov. 6 on the main floor of the Ag-Rec Building at 32470 Haida Dr., and on Saturday, Nov. 8 at Chief Can George Middle School at 32877 Old Riverside Rd.

The city will also offer curbside voting for those with physical disabilities who are unable to enter a voting place. Persons unable to enter a voting place should have someone alert the presiding election official (PEO) at their assigned Voting Place on General Voting Day. The PEO will arrange to have the necessary documents, forms and ballot (with secrecy folder) brought to your vehicle.

The city of Abbotsford will also offer language translation services at select voting places. Election officials at some voting places will be fluent in English and Punjabi, and will be available to assist electors who require language translation.
