Mayoral candidate and current councillor Henry Braun released his campaign donation list on his website last Friday, after he said last month he would release the list for the sake of transparency.
Braun said he has not accepted and will not accept donations over $2,500. The donations he collects in the next week will be released Friday, the day before the election.
Braun received donations of $2,500 from Mann Capital Investment, Sneakers Abbotsford Racquets Clubs Inc., Eagle Mountain Farms, Ltd, Kinder Sidhu and Associates, Mid Valley Insurance Agencies and Joe Varing.
He received $2,000 donations from Margaret Braun, VanMar Poultry Ltd., Wall’s Farm Ltd., John Penner and Graystone Ready Mix Inc.
In total, Braun has received $47,270 from about 60 different donors with an average donation of $727.23.
Candidates must disclose donors 90 days after the election as set out by Elections BC.
Mayor Bruce Banman sent a comment to The News indicating that he will release a complete and audited financial disclosure statement with donations, expenses and in-kind donations in line with the requirements set out by Elections BC.
