The Abbotsford Police Department (APD) is asking for the public’s help in trying to track down a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run collision that injured two people.

The incident took place Wednesday, June 1 at 10:20 p.m. in the 2200 block of Clearbrook Road.

An 82-year-old man and a 78-year-old woman were struck by a southbound vehicle as they were crossing the street from east to west. They were not using a crosswalk at the time, said APD Const. Ian MacDonald.

The driver then fled the area, leaving the injured couple on the road.

The pair were transported to hospital and received treatment for injuries that included scrapes, bruises and skull fractures.

APD Const. Ian MacDonald said witnesses were interviewed, and investigators continue to gather forensic and video evidence.

Police are looking for a black 2014 to 2016 Toyota Corolla, which will likely have damage on the passenger side close to the side-view mirror.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the APD at 604-859-5225, text abbypd (222973) or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
